Stag Arms has a new series of limited edition AR-15s in various colors. The Special Tactical Rifle Makeup ( SPCTRM) incorporates olive drab green, flat dark earth, and gray colorways. These rifles have several other upgraded features besides the color.

In this episode of TFBTV, James Reeves tests a $450 hodge-podge kit build AR-15 – a complete DMPS upper on a complete Stag lower – against his personal top-tier Bravo Company Mk2 complete rifle. To spice things up a bit, James has outfitted the BCM with a $1,800 Maven RS.4 5-30x optic, and the DPMS will be using a cheap $250 Bushnell 4-16x scope. James shoots both rifles at 100 yards and compares performance using CBC 55gr M193 ammunition, 55gr Wolf Gold, 62gr ZQI/MKE, and Hornady Black 75gr. Last year, in June, TFB reported that Stag Arms intended to leave their home base in New Britain, Connecticut, where they had been headquartered since their founding in 2003. Then later in the year, in November, TFB reported that they had chosen Cheyenne, Wyoming as their new home. In conjunction with a concurrent announcement regarding the appointment of Chad Larsen, formerly of Aero Precision, as Stag’s new President, the company looked to be positioning themselves to make some notable efforts to inject some new life into its product offerings. Recently, they have announced two such endeavors: the introduction of a new AR series chambered in .300 Blackout, and the re-introduction of a previous Stag offering, the Varminter.

Connecticut gun manufacturer Stag plead guilty today to violating federal law, including the loss of 200 firearms from its record books, and the possession of 62 machine guns or receivers for machine guns not registered to the company. In the plea agreement that to the revocation of the company’s Federal Firearms License, owner Mark Malkowski agreed to sell Stag and never own another gun company again. The Hartford Courant reports:
