Can a Basic $450 AR-15 Keep Up With My $1,500 Rifle?
In this episode of TFBTV, James Reeves tests a $450 hodge-podge kit build AR-15 – a complete DMPS upper on a complete Stag lower – against his personal top-tier Bravo Company Mk2 complete rifle. To spice things up a bit, James has outfitted the BCM with a $1,800 Maven RS.4 5-30x optic, and the DPMS will be using a cheap $250 Bushnell 4-16x scope. James shoots both rifles at 100 yards and compares performance using CBC 55gr M193 ammunition, 55gr Wolf Gold, 62gr ZQI/MKE, and Hornady Black 75gr. Does the $450 franken-build even hold a candle to the $1,500 BCM premium rifle? Find out today on TFBTV.

My thought has always been that in paying for something like a BCM, I'm paying for extra thought in selection of quality components, QC of those components and attention to detail at assembly with associated QC. None of that guarantees you a good rifle but it increases the probability of getting a good rifle. I've never been to BCM assembly but I've seen video, and I've been to DPMS assembly when Remington was still alive here, and let me tell you the latter doesn't compare to the former......
In most places in the US a 100 yd shot is about all you will get. Sub MOA is great for long shots but not needed most of the time. In real life targets dont stand dead still so you can play with your aim.
Best upgrades you can make to any rifle is a drop in trigger (mil spec sucks) and an antitilt buffer. The later helps you stay on target after you shoot.
