POTD: M32 Speedloader – For Your 40mm Wheelgun
VLTOR recently posted a photo of the M32 speedloader. Yes, it is a speed loader for their revolver grenade launcher. If you were one of the few that could afford the $15k transferable Milkor M32 grenade launcher then this is a must-have accessory for you! Are you tired of loading 40mm chalk rounds one at a time like a schmuck? Why waste time reloading when you could be spending that time shooting? VLTOR has what you need. You can even get a pouch to hold your loaded M32 speedloader. Can you imagine a battle belt adorned with multiple pouches all the way around your waist? Awesome. LOL
Portable DESTRUCTION: Ukrainian Firm Develops Handheld Automatic Grenade Launcher
How much firepower can you hold in your hands? Quite a lot, according to Kiev-based Precision Systems, who has developed a handheld automatic 30mm grenade launcher capable of dispensing five 30x29mm grenades quickly when used by just a single individual. News of this assault-rifle-sized automatic grenade gun was first published in the Anglosphere by ISH Jane’s:
South African National Parks Field Grenade Launchers
It appears that South African National Parks has teamed up with the South African weapons manufacturer MILKOR to provide the parks anti-poaching team with some heavy firepower. Milkor has added at least two of the 40mm launchers to the park’s growing armory, a lightweight UBGL launcher and Milkor’s multiple grenade launcher.
Poland acquires 40mm grenade launchers
Jane’s has reported that the Polish military will be buying 200 of a locally made model of standalone 40mm grenade launchers. The Polish company Zaklady Mechaniczne Tarnow, based in Tarnow, Poland. The model is essentially a modified grenade launcher from the South African company Milkor, and ZMT calls it the RGP-40. They will be delivered in two batches of 100, the first by this October, and the second by August 2017. The difference between the two models seem to be the design of the bar above the revolving chambers, and the trigger housing group. Unlike revolvers, as one might think these operate, with a preen to push the chambers into place, these grenade launchers use gas from the grenade, to push the next chamber into place, while the operator has to wind up the chambers before firing.
[SHOT 2016] Milkor USA's Hydra: Handheld Automatic Grenade Launcher
I was headed past Milkor USA’s booth today to take a look at their lightweight 40mm launcher when a launcher of a whole different aesthetic caught my eye: The 40mm Hydra. With a large hydraulic buffer tube mated to the chamber and barrel, sitting above a grip frame with wood grip panels, and a very large box magazine that indexes somewhat like a Thompson SMG, it certainly did not look like the other rotary launchers on display. I talked to their designer, and apparently it is a collaboration between Milkor USA and Rheinmetall Waffen. An even more interesting point came up when he informed me that the Hydra can fire semi or full auto, at a rate of fire of 10 rounds in less than 2 seconds! The Hydra could possibly succeed where the Czech RAG-30 and CZW-40 didn’t quite achieve, in controlled shoulder fired 40mm automatic grenade fire. It is pictured here with a 6 round magazine, but also has 4 and 10 round magazines.
