James Reeves talks to the guys at Grand Power about the 10mm Stribog: A variant of the Stribog line of firearms, chambered in the 10mm Auto cartridge. The Stribog is produced by Grand Power, a Slovakian firearms manufacturer known for its innovative designs and high-quality production. The original Stribog models, such as the SP9A1, were chambered in 9mm, but due to the popularity of the platform and demand for more powerful calibers, a 10mm version has been a topic of interest among firearms enthusiasts.

I’ve carried the G20 Gen3 at work and as an EDC for years.  I even killed my first mule deer with it about two decades ago.  It’s been reliable, faithful, and in thousands and thousands of rounds fired and hours in the field, I only had one spring fail.  In other words, it’s a Glock.  Accurate enough, extremely reliable, and easy to maintain.  When Glock gave me the opportunity to review a Glock 20 Gen5 MOS, I took them up on the offer because I’ve had so much time and experience with my old G20.  You know what you’re getting with a Glock, but is it worth it for people who have previous generations of the G20 to upgrade to this latest and greatest Gen5?  I have carried and shot it extensively over the past nine months, so let’s find out.

Taurus has been putting much effort into broadening its options throughout the US handgun market. With great introductions like the Taurus GX4 in the micro compact category, and the earlier release of the similar TH45 chambered in 45 ACP, it’s only natural that Taurus has now made the decision to finally make their very first 10mm handgun – the TH10. This new double-action/single-action polymer frame handgun features a combination de-cocker/safety so that you can carry the handgun “cocked and locked,” or de-cocked in DA mode with the safety off.

Compensated pistols and ported slides and barrels are becoming increasingly popular across the handgun market and for good reason – they work. While they do make most guns more obnoxious to shoot indoors, in competition and self-defense situations the reduced recoil can make a huge difference in shot placement or the speed of follow-up shots. The SIG Sauer P320-XTEN COMP is SIG’s offering to those who like to carry around the power of a 10mm semi-auto pistol, but want something more controllable. SIG claims that with the P320-XTEN COMP’s new bull barrel and ported slide, there is a 20% reduction in recoil making it easier to shoot with hot 10mm ammunition.

The 10mm Glock has a cult following among outdoorsmen. Glock 40 combines the reliability that Glock pistols are famous for with the revolver-like punch of the 10mm Auto cartridge. Glock already made full-size and compact models but added a long-slide model in 2015. So how does it shoot, and what is it capable of?

There have been a handful of new 10mm handguns to hit the market recently, and along with that, Federal Ammunition is excited to announce the expansion of their popular Train + Protect line with their new 10mm Train + Protect 180-grain ammunition. Like other offerings in the Train and Protect line, the 10mm variety offers the customer a full power round that is suitable for defensive use but is also economical enough to be trained with on a more regular basis.

Hot on the heels of the steel framed M&P9 M2.0 and the new M&P 5.7, Smith & Wesson have announced the new Performance Center M&P 10mm M2.0. The new pistol has a ported 5.6-inch barrel, a slide cut ready for optics and ships with two 15-round magazines. MSRP on the new Smith & Wesson 10mm is $749.00.

Springfield Armory has announced a new version of the XD-M Elite series of pistols. This new variant is the XD-M Elite 4.5″ OSP pistol, now chambered in 10mm and presented in a Desert FDE finish. The Springfield Armory XD-M Elite series of pistols all feature great upgrades to the base platform including the Match Enhanced Trigger Assembly, a removable extended and flared short magwell, and an ambidextrous slide catch/release. Best of all, this handgun is chambered in 10mm which has seen a recent resurgence in popularity.

Winchester Ammunition had a few new ammunition options available at Industry Day At The Range 2023.

Black Hills Ammunition has a reputation for making high quality ammunition. They now offer a 6 ARC and 6.5 PRC load in their Black Hills Gold lineup. Also new this year is a 10mm load with their HoneyBadger branding.

Today at SHOT Show 2023’s Industry Day at the Range, we got hands-on trigger time with a few New Glock Products.   Team Glock’s Shane Coley ran us through the new G20 Gen5 MOS, along with their new G47.  Furthermore, we got to try out Glock’s new Performance trigger, a flat faced trigger that currently fits all Gen 5 9mm’s except the G43/48 slim frames.

Hi-Point Firearms is a company with, shall we say, a bit of a reputation. Their budget-friendly products, which they call “the working man’s gun”, have become the quintessential meme guns. To their credit, they generally lean into this characterization. This is a brand which used a social media campaign to get the public to name one of its guns, which resulted in the infamous “Yeet Cannon”. Now they’re expanding their lineup with a new version which has been much requested by its customer base, this time in 10mm. Meet the new Hi-Point JXP10.
