At SHOT Show 2020, Browning Ammunition announced the addition of three new cartridges to their catalog – 6mm Creedmoor, 28 Nosler and 350 Legend. In total, there are seven new loads added to the following five ammunition lines: BXC, BXS, BXR, Long Range PRO and FMJ. Let’s see how the company describes each of these ammunition lines and what loads of the new cartridges are included in them.

    BXC

BXC Controlled Expansion Terminal Tip is designed specifically for use on Big Game like elk, moose, mule deer and bear. The Terminal Tip and bonded bullet design allows for deep penetration through thick, tough hide and bone. The anodized aluminum tip and heavy bullet weight are integral components to delivering precision accuracy, maximum downrange velocity and long-range, on-target performance.

The BXC line of Browning Ammunition has been expanded with the 28 Nosler cartridge loaded with a 155-grain bullet that travels at a muzzle velocity of 3,250 fps and has a muzzle energy of 3635 ft-lbs.

    BXS

BXS Solid Expansion Big Game & Deer is strategically designed to leave a lethal mark on large game with tough hide. The polymer tipped copper bullet is constructed for controlled expansion and deep penetration, creating a devastating impact. The nickel-plated shellcases resist corrosion and improve feeding, so you can quickly deliver with knockdown assurance.

This line also now has a 28 Nosler option loaded with a 139 gr bullet with 3,350 fps MV and 3,463 ft-lbs ME.

    BXR

BXR Rapid Expansion Matrix Tip is designed specifically for use on whitetail, blacktail, mule deer and antelope. The proprietary matrix tip design allows for high downrange velocity and energy retention while also initiating rapid positive expansion. The jacket and tip combination yields precision accuracy, rapid energy transfer and generates massive knockdown power.

Two new cartridges are added to BXR – 6mm Creedmoor (97gr bullet at 3,210 fps muzzle velocity and with 2,219 ft-lbs muzzle energy) and 350 Legend (155gr bullet at 2,300 fps (1,820 ft-lbs)).

    Long Range Pro

Browning Long Range Pro achieves match grade accuracy through the utilization of Sierra® Tipped MatchKing® boat-tailed bullets. Whether it’s punching holes in paper or ringing long-range steel targets, Long Range Pro delivers with precision.

This line also has two new loads: 6mm Creedmoor (95gr bullet at 3,285 fps (2276 ft-lbs) and 28 Nosler (160 gr bullet at 3,200 fps (3,637 ft-lbs)).

    FMJ Target

In the FMJ Target line of Browning Ammunition, you can find only one cartridge: 350 Legend loaded with a 124 gr FMJ bullet. The muzzle velocity of this load is 2,500 fps (ME 1,721 ft-lbs) which Browning claims to be the highest MV of any currently available 350 Legend load.
