Perun X16

Hailing from Cerkno, Slovenia, Tinck Arms, established in 2007, has just released its Perun X16. Meant to be a modular rifle kit, the X16 features a monolithic upper capable of being paired with any off the shelf AR parts.

In Slavic mythology, Perun is the highest god of the pantheon and the god of thunder and lightning.

The PERUN – X16 is a platform with impressive specifications and capabilities. With so many attractive features, uses, and configurations, the PERUN X16 rifle is a great addition to any gun connoisseur.

This kit quite frankly wouldn’t be a bad choice for a first time AR builder. The kit contains most of the major operating components of the rifle and would still allow for a wide range of customization and aesthetic choice from the end-user.

There are many aspects of the PERUN X16 MULTI CAL modular platform that are appealing to gun enthusiasts. The following are some of the most noteworthy:

– Compact chasiss made from 7075 anodized aluminium with integrated steel guides
– Robust design with integrated Picatiny rails
– Compatible with all AR-15 barrels
– Direct impingement / Gas Piston impingement option
– Non reciprocating charging handle for both sides (L/R arm users)
– Compatible with all current AR-15 Stocks and Buttstocks
– Compatible with all existing AR-15 lowers*
– Compatible with all AR-15 triggers

Personally, I am quite hopeful that these make it over to the States. Just one of these kits would make a great short summer build. That or it would make a great prop in the next big sci-fi blockbuster.
