CCI has rolled out a new flavor of ammo specifically meant to duplicate duty loads, but at a more affordable price-point for practice with their Heavy Blazer Brass 9mm in a 147 Grain FMJ (Full-Metal Jacket). A lot of hollow point offerings for 9mm come in heavier grain weights than traditional, cheap training ammo. It only makes sense to practice with what you’ll carry, but nobody wants to go broke shooting hundreds of hollow-points. So to replicate the point of impact of a heavier bullet and its slightly different recoil impulse, CCI has introduced this heavy Blazer Brass offering.
- New 9mm Luger 147 Grain Option
- Heavier Bullet better aligns w/ popular Duty & Self-Defense Loads
- Reloadable Brass Cases
- Accurate FMJ Bullet
- Clean, Reliable CCI Primer
It still carries many of the same attributes we have all come to know in their 115 grain and 124 grain FMJ offerings, but now it more closely aligns with the heavier hollow points found on the market. Some more of the specs and expected price-point can be read below as presented by CCI:
- Blazer Brass 9mm Luger 147 Grain FMJ | 50 Count | 5203 | MSRP $17.95
The MSRP might sound really high at $17.95, but your local retailer assuredly will not be selling it for full retail price. Some final convincing words from CCI to get you to stock up on their newest offering of ammo can be read below in their most recent Press Release statement regarding the 147 grain FMJ:
The load’s heavier bullet better aligns with many popular duty and self-defense bullets for more realistic practice. Like all Blazer Brass loads, it is accurate, 100 percent American made, and offers reloadable brass cases and non-corrosive, non-mercuric CCI primers for clean, reliable ignition.
This new ammo from CCI might not be a re-invention of the metaphorical wheel by any means, but what do you think? Do you typically shoot a lot of CCI ammunition? Would you prefer to shoot some heavier grain weight ammo if given the option? Let us know all of your thoughts in the Comments below! We always appreciate your feedback.
