Sightmark announced a pair of new red dot sights for your rifles. Called the Wolverine, the sight comes in two different configurations: the CSR and the FSR. Both sights are designed to be rugged with a long battery life.
The company states the sights are IP67 rated, which indicates resistance to both water and dust. The sight housing is made of 6061-T6 aluminum and clad in a rubber coating that acts as an armor against scratches and impacts. The internals are shockproof, and the lenses are coated with an anti-reflective finish that also provides scratch resistance. The units are nitrogen purged and should be fog proof.
Both of the sights operate on a single AA battery. According to the company, the sights should run for about 50,000 hours (on average) on a single battery. While not stated, I would assume that is with a lithium AA. Frankly, the cost of lithium AA batteries is not much more than a quality alkaline but gives better run time and discharge during storage characteristics.
The CSR uses a 4 MOA dot and has a 23mm objective lens. It weighs 10.3 ounces. The FSR uses a 2 MOA dot with a 28mm objective lens. It is slightly heavier at 12.3 ounces. Both of the units offer unlimited eye relief and no magnification. The stated operating range is -22˚F to 122˚F.
Pricing ranges from $155.99 for the CSR to $179.99 for the FSR. Sightmark makes a range of products such as these lasers and this night vision rifle scope.
