Knoxville, TN based company SDS Imports specializes in bringing foreign-made guns to the United States. They’ve just recently announced the addition of the Turkish made Tisas Zigana PX-9 pistol to their list of offerings. The Tisas PX-9 is a full-sized polymer framed 9mm pistol very similar in nature to the Springfield XD series of pistols.

    Specifications:

    • Caliber: 9mm Luger
    • Action Type: Single Action Locked Breech
    • Safety: Ambidextrous manual frame safety
    • Magazine Capacity: 15 rounds

The PX-9 comes in a hardshell case that also contains a holster, cleaning kit, magazine loader and two magazines. The PX-9 has many modern implementations like a 1913 rail, forward slide serrations as well as fully adjustable rear sights. In addition, the PX-9 accepts SIG Sauer P226 pattern magazines.

Some of the PX-9 pistols being ordered by SDS come with Philippine National Police slide markings on them which doesn’t really add anything to the pistol besides novelty but if you’re into that kind of thing there’s some out there.

The PX-9 pistols are being offered for sale at a current price of around $380 MSRP, however, you may be able to get your hands on them for a little less. In today’s firearm market when there is little to be had in the way of inexpensive firepower, this might be a cheap way to get a new gun.

SDS has imported these pistols in the past and while I have not had any first-hand experience with them, from what I can glean many people seem to like the guns for what they are – reliable and cheap guns with a handful of nice features. Most of the reviews I’ve seen on them seem to be favorable and for the relatively low price that has to count for something. I’ve seen a couple of these on GunBroker.com going for about $300 or even less so if you’re looking to get your hands on something unique you might want to check out a PX-9
