A familiar idea by now, a polymer-construction duty-sized pistol. Bear Creek Arsenal says they used the finest materials but have managed to keep pricing down. [Bear Creek Arsenal]

Bear Creek Arsenal has been building AR-style firearms for years now, including semi-auto pistols built on AR-pattern actions. Now, the company is heading in a different direction. The new Bear Creek Arsenal Grizzly is a full-sized polymer-construction pistol chambered in 9x19mm, made for budget-conscious shooters.

    Bear Creek Arsenal @ TFB:

The Bear Creek Arsenal Grizzly will officially break cover on April 10, but the company already has a bunch of information loaded onto its website. The new pistol will come with a 20-degree grip angle that’s stippled to help you control the pistol; texturing on the lower frame also helps you lock your thumb in, and Bear Creek Arsenal says “Grizzly’s design focuses on balance, providing stability that reduces recoil and muzzle flip for more accurate successive shots.” The slide is window-cut to cut down on weight and improve handling.

Bear Creek Arsenal also made it easy to shoot the Grizzly more accurately by including an under-barrel Picatinny rail, allowing the user to mount a laser or light and there’s an RMR slot cut into the top of the slide, allowing easy attachment of an optic. Photo-luminescent night sights come standard with the pistol.

Buyers can choose from several barrel finishes and materials, and many Glock Gen 3 accessories should be compatible. [Bear Creek Arsenal]

From the factory, buyers have the choice of a 416R stainless steel barrel or 4150 chrome moly with a black nitride finish. There’s also the option to swap in one of Bear Creek Arsenal’s titanium nitride barrels or a threaded barrel that can handle a suppressor or compensator. Bear Creek Arsenal’s barrels have a 0.5×28 thread pitch, and they do have thread protectors available.

The Grizzly will ship with two 17-round magazines, and Bear Creek Arsenal says “The Grizzly is compatible with a vast selection of aftermarket parts, accessories, and holsters.” It is certainly a very familiar-looking design, and Glock Gen 3 products should mostly fit this pistol.

What’s the price tag? We don’t know, yet, but the company says the MSRP will be low to let shooters “Enjoy high quality without worrying about astronomical prices.” Stay tuned for more details on April 10; we’d expect the info to appear on their website here.
