Welcome everyone to the 228th edition of ‘Hot Gat or Fudd Crap?’, one of our many series here on TFB. If you’re new to the series, this is where we look at the most obscure firearms that are actually for sale and ask the question – is this Gat a sweet deal or only have Fudd appeal?  Each week the TFB staff weighs in with their thoughts, but readers get the final say in the poll at the bottom of each article.

In our last edition, our poll showed that you, the readers, decided the custom SCR was just fudd crap.

At this time the original auction is still up while the straight wall SCR awaits a new owner and subsequent new home.  We can only hope it’ll find its way to that new home very soon.

In this week’s edition of HGFC, we look at a custom Gen4 Glock19C chambered in 9mm. As is tradition, this sunflower-themed Glock is currently up for sale on GunBroker for $799 Buy It Now.

The Sunflower Smokewagon is sure to give your horticulturist confidence in defending his or her Homes & Gardens. With decorative sunflowers bursting out of the custom wrapped scroll pattern, this classy peacemaker says “let’s enjoy a picnic by the lake with fine meats, cheeses, and wines” as much as it says “FA & FO”! This G19C comes with one 15 round mag and one Magpul drum mag.

This series started when Gaston was still with us.  Now sadly, that’s no longer the case.  I wish I could blame this or any one of the various Glock monstrosities for that, but now I’m forced to wonder if he will ever rest in piece. There are various sub-arguments to everything that’s going on here so let’s start with the basics.  No one can agree on anything Glock, but what they can agree on is that changing out the factory plastic sights is never a bad idea.  Modifications past that are at your discretion and are often arguably invalid.

So if you buy a compensated Glock 19C and spend a bunch of money getting it painted and engraved while leaving the factory sights in place, don’t blame me or anyone else when you see a few eye rolls.  It’s been years since this series started and I still am just as confused by guns like this. It always feels like an art project that got abandoned because someone’s wife was made aware of the cost.  I mean, does anyone really carry guns like this?  I guess we’ll never know, but there is something we can learn from this series.

So is this sunflower emblazened Glock 19 a bargain at $799 Buy It Now or are you better off pretending this doesn’t exist and therefore can’t hurt you?  As always I leave it up to you, the reader, to decide.
