At the SHOT Show 2024, Desert Tech presented a new addition to their line of firearms – the WLVRN, a bullpup rifle that builds on the foundations of their MDRx model. The company’s innovation has resulted in a rifle comprised of 49 fewer parts compared to its predecessor. This streamlined design not only achieves a 19% reduction in weight but also enhances accuracy by up to 30%, as per Desert Tech’s reports.

The WLVRN showcases a novel bolt carrier design crafted for low drag and increased mass, which operates at a reduced velocity. Desert Tech offers the rifle in three barrel length options: a 20-inch designated marksman rifle (DMR), a 16-inch standard, and an 11.5-inch Micron variant.

One of the key features of the WLVRN is its multi-caliber platform, allowing the user to configure the firearm to chamber various calibers including 5.56x45mm NATO/.223 Remington, .308 Winchester/7.62×51 NATO, 6.5 Creedmoor, and .300 AAC Blackout.

In tandem with the WLVRN, Desert Tech also introduced the Infinity 16 rifle, featuring the new Quattro-15 lower receiver. This lower is designed to accept Desert Tech’s QMAG-53, a proprietary 53-round magazine, along with standard AR-pattern magazines. The Quattro-15 lower promises compatibility with all standard AR-15 upper receivers as a drop-in option.

Available immediately, the Quattro-15 lower receiver carries an MSRP of $224.99. Desert Tech has plans to incorporate the Quattro-15 lower into complete rifle offerings in the future.
