[SHOT 2024] Kodiak Defence Shows K9 PCC, Gives Mauser Import Update

Kodiak Defence, the Canadian-based firearms manufacturer, unveiled its latest offering, the K9 PCC, while also providing an update on Mauser importation at SHOT Show 2024.

The K9 PCC, a blowback 9mm rifle meticulously crafted in Canada, stands out due to its innovative design and user-friendly features. The carbine has AR controls, making it an easy transition for those used to the AR system. The standard edition of the K9 comes equipped with an AR-pattern buttstock and grip. The rifle boasts a full-length Picatinny rail atop the receiver and a free-floated handguard. Additionally, it offers M-LOK slots on the handguard for attaching accessories. The 18.6″ of K9 PCC is 1/2×28″ threaded. The receiver and handguard are made from 6061 Aluminum.  The trigger weight ranges within 5.5 – 7.5 lbs., and the overall length of the rifle is 36.7″. Lastly, the rifle weighs a manageable 7.25 lbs.

Those hoping to get their hands on the K9 PCC in the United States will have to exercise patience. According to Kodiak Defence staff, the rifle is currently not available stateside owing to intricate regulatory red tape. The K9 would be categorized as a Non Sporting Rifle, a classification that complicates importation. The staff indicates a more practical approach would likely involve initiating production within the U.S before making it available for local sales.
