During SHOT 2024, North American Arms unveiled a new addition to its lineup, the Sentinel mini-revolver. This latest piece retains the familiar small-bore, concealed carry-friendly design that the company is known for, with a significant update that marks its 50th year of operation. The Sentinel closely resembles the popular Pug model but introduces a swing-out cylinder feature. Scheduled for release in the summer of 2024, the Sentinel comes chambered in .22 Magnum with the option for shooters to equip a .22LR conversion cylinder to suit their preferences.

North American Arms addressed customer feedback regarding their existing models. A company representative mentioned that, while the revolvers in their lineup are not typically used for high-volume shooting, there was a segment of their customer base seeking a revolver akin to the Pug, but one that could offer easier loading and unloading capabilities. The rod-style ejection system of previous models presented some difficulties for these users, who will likely appreciate the more user-friendly swing-out cylinder of the new Sentinel.

Product specs:

  • Barrel size: 1.5-inch
  • Front sights: Dot-style or Tritium options available
  • Caliber: .22 Magnum
  • Capacity: Five-shot
  • Grip: Black pebbled
  • Construction: Stainless steel

The Sentinel’s specs highlight its robust stainless steel construction paired with a five-shot capacity, signaling durability and reliability. Customers can choose between dot-style or Tritium front sights, tailoring their revolver to personal preferences or specific use cases. The black pebbled grip ensures a secure hold, an essential feature for a firearm designed for concealed carry.

Hopefully it's compatible with the grip holster they have. I have one in 22 mag with the grip holster as a super deep

@William Walker It is on the magnum frame so the holster grip should fit.

As one of those odd duck High volume NAA mini shooters, I would really rather have something like the Black Widow with the swing out or top break functionality. The Pug size minis are cool, but the NAA connoisseurs out there know that the Black Widow is NAA's BEST design with their traditional cylinder release. If I could get a Ranger 2 with good sights, I would legitimately carry the thing full time instead of my J frame.

@The Waffler Have you tried the Ranger 2? It's a top break made by NAA.
