MDT, a manufacturer known for its high-quality shooting equipment, displayed a wide variety of products at SHOT 2024 – ranging from new chassis designs to an electronically operated trigger system. Here are some highlights:

Starting with the Crush It stage timer, a user-oriented device that can be mounted in a vertical or horizontal position. This new addition to MDT’s product line offers a unique feature of tone customization. The product is energy-efficient, with a battery life that caters to 200 2-minute stages. It’s priced at $249.95.

MDT also introduced an updated ACC Premier Gen 2 chassis. The stock riser on the ACC Elite buttstock has been designed for adjustment by an Allen key. While this method might be not as convenient as a knob adjustment, it does cut down the overall expenditure. This new chassis model comes with a 15-inch forend, measuring 1.96 inches wide, which accommodates the attachment of MDT’s ACC accessories. The product is tagged at $999.95.

Next in line is the Echo Target Sensor, an innovative solution for target shooting. The system includes a haptic sensor that attaches to the back of a gong or similar target using hook-and-loop fasteners. On detecting impact, the sensor sends a radio signal back to a receiver device that can be positioned up to 2 miles away. Interestingly, the receiver can connect with up to eight Echo sensors/transmitters, offering a comprehensive and interactive shooting experience. “It kind of eliminates (the need for) a spotter,” remarked a booth staff member. The receiver and sensors are priced at $249.95 and $189.95 respectively.

The Zero Stage trigger, another electronic masterpiece from MDT, was also unveiled at SHOT. This electronically-operated trigger offers an adjustable pull weight that ranges from 4 to 64 ounces. It’s compatible with Remington 700 actions, and clones, ensuring utility across different models. Designed for accuracy, the Zero Stage trigger eliminates any take-up before the shot, thereby promoting consistent shooting. Additionally, it comes equipped with both mechanical and electronic safeties. This product model also supports firmware updates and is priced at $699.95.

Last but not least, MDT showcased its Gen 5 JAE chassis. The latest in their line, this chassis offers some significant upgrades like an adjustable barricade stop and an ARCA rail integrated under the forend. In terms of balance and weight, it has space for added weight in the forend and weight reduction on the buttstock. Another interesting feature is the addition of new polymer length of pull spacers. The Gen 5 JAE chassis is set to release in Q3 of 2024, with a price tag of $1499.95.

In past trade shows, MDT has been known to produce reliable and efficient shooting equipment. Last year’s highlights included the various ACC and JAE series models that covered a wide range of shooting needs. With the latest announcement in SHOT 2024, the manufacturer continues its streak of enhancing their product lines for both professional shooters and enthusiasts.

I'm sorry. Did the photographer purposely go above and beyond to take photos that don't really show the actual product?

A lot of innovation from MDT this year and the JAE. Here's to hoping it sells well enough to warrant bringing it back to the M14/M1A, that's a build I've wanted to put together and have for a long time.
