[SHOT 2024] Grip Plus Improves Ergonomics, Reduces Recoil
New developments in shotgun stock design promise to make shooting both more comfortable and more accurate. Grip Plus, a California-based company, has unveiled an innovative adjustable shotgun stock lineup designed to improve ergonomics and minimize recoil, enhancing both the shooting experience and results. The company had the new lineup on display at the SHOT Show 2024.
The recoil reduction system in the Plus model has been developed to be more robust, eliminating any perceived sloppiness. The company’s designer proudly states that their stocks stand out in the market due to their absence of unnecessary plays when compared to other recoil systems.
Grip Plus’s stock lineup provides adjustable cheek risers and length of pull. The lineup consists of three distinct models, each catering to a different range of shooter sizes and preferences. The Basic model, which comes with or without a recoil reduction system, offers an adjustable length of pull (LOP) ranging from 12 to 15 inches. The Plus model is designed for larger shooters, offering an adjustable LOP between 14-16.5 inches.
The Pro model, which is the cream of the crop, boasts an air chamber adjustable via a Schrader valve designed specifically to reduce the recoil of the shotgun. The LOP of this model can be adjusted from 13.5 to 17 inches, accommodating a wide range of body types. An additional standout feature of the Pro model is its double buttpad design, which securely locks the stock to the shooter’s shoulder when raising the gun.
“All our stocks are optimal for people with smaller faces who find it difficult to shoot their shotgun without contorting their face into an unnatural position over the stock comb,” says a Grip Plus staff.
The technology that powers these stocks includes a wood grip and cheekpiece. Customers can expect to shell out anywhere from $2850 for the Basic model without recoil reduction to $5850 for the top-of-the-range Pro model. Potential customers can order their desired model directly through the company’s website.
