[SHOT 2024] Benelli Lupo HPR Bolt Action Rifle

The realm of long-distance precision shooting and its close relation, long-range hunting, are popular activities currently. To cater to this, Benelli has stepped into the game with their new Lupo HPR (High Precision Rifle), which made its debut at the SHOT Show 2024.

Boasting an improved alloy chassis, the Benelli Lupo HPR has a built-in Progressive Comfort System buttpad for reducing felt recoil. This feature will be greatly appreciated by shooters, especially those that choose Lupo HPR models chambered in heavy-hitting rounds including .338 Lapua, .300 Win Mag, and 300 PRC. However, those favoring lighter ammunition still have options, with the new HPR also available in .308 Win, 6.5CM, and 6.5 PRC.

In terms of specifications, the Lupo HPR models chambered for long-action cartridges sport a 26-inch barrel and four-round magazines, whereas those designed for short-action cartridges employ a 24-inch barrel and five-round magazines. The suggested retail price for the new Benelli Lupo HPR is set at $2,949.

In addition, Benelli seems to have put some considerable thought into the new HPR’s design details. With enhancements like ambi safety and adjustable Length of Pull (LOP) spacers, the rifle showcases a well-calculated blend of utility and convenience. A fluted Crio barrel, threaded for a muzzle brake, underscores the focus on performance.

Where comfort and customization are concerned, the Lupo HPR delivers with an 8-position, push button-adjustable riser and interchangeable grip panels. It also includes a removable bag rider underneath the stock and QD sling mount points in front and back, enhancing the gun’s handling versatility. Moreover, the forend of the rifle features M-LOK slots while the action is topped with a one-piece Picatinny rail for mounting accessories.

Benelli’s staff has clarified that despite the external updates for 2024, the internals of the new Lupo HPR are consistent with their previous models. Integrating novel design elements into the trusted and tested core components of the earlier editions appears to be the essence of Benelli’s strategy with their latest offering.

Aimed at the high-performance demands of modern long-range shooting enthusiasts, Benelli’s new Lupo HPR is clearly set apart by offering a winning blend of performance features, customizability, and sturdy build.
