Real Avid has announced its latest offering, the Bore-Max Master Cleaning Kit, at SHOT 2024. This new kit is designed to be more than just a simple cleaning kit; it functions as a portable cleaning station and mobile workstation packaged within a briefcase-sized container.

A representative from Real Avid detailed the features and functionality of the cleaning kit. According to the representative, the Bore-Max Master Gun Cleaning Kit and Mobile Workstation consists of three primary components: a detachable lid, a middle body, and a lower section. These parts can be separated and individually used depending on the cleaning or maintenance task at hand.

The top section of the kit is the main organizer, containing a range of tools typically required for firearm maintenance. This includes cleaning rods, bore guides, various brushes, picks, jags, and additional compartments for storage of items such as patches. The lower tray of the kit serves as the highlight, providing a concealed workstation equipped with V blocks to hold the firearm securely in place, eliminating the need for manual support during the cleaning process.

An innovative addition to the Bottom Organizer is the Smart System Light, which should improve visibility while working on firearms. Also included is a cleaning mat that can either be stored flat in the bottom tray or rolled and slotted into the lid for easy transport.

Here are the key product specs for the Real Avid Bore-Max Master Cleaning Kit:

Product specs:

– Three main parts: Lid, top organizer, bottom organizer for versatile usage.
– Top Organizer Contents: Includes cleaning rod, bore guide, brushes, picks, jags, and extra storage for patches.
– Bottom Organizer Contents: Features the Smart System Light, cleaning mat, and workstation V blocks for stability.
– MSRP: $199

The design choice to package these components into a compact, easily transportable case demonstrates Real Avid’s commitment to providing practical and efficient solutions for gun maintenance on the go. With an MSRP of $199, the Bore-Max Master Cleaning Kit is positioned as a premium option for firearm enthusiasts who value the convenience of a comprehensive, portable cleaning system.

What kind of cleaning kit is not portable?

@AKFred58 I mean, I think it depends on what you're looking for and expecting.

This mobile kit looks like the kind of portable kit that an electrician or whatever might take with him to a job site.

When I go out to the range and take a number of different weapons and am shooting with friends or going to a competition or something, I take a kit like that with tools and cleaning supplies and spare parts because I'm setting up on the firing line, and if something breaks or I need to troubleshoot something or whatever, I'd rather have the tools to handle it there instead of having to pack up a certain weapon.

Is this going to be the kind of kit that someone's going to toss in a casual range bag or pack for plinking or use in the field? No. And I don't think it's intended to be. But it's comprehensive and in a package that travels easily enough so that you aren't screwed when away from a home base/shop either.
