[SHOT 2024] Henry Lever Action Supreme: A Cowboy Rifle With AR Mags

In a remarkable expansion of their product line, Henry, the famous firearms manufacturer, has unveiled a path-breaking offering, the Lever Action Supreme, an innovative lever-action rifle that is compatible with AR-pattern magazines. Representing a whole new design concept, with eight patents pending, the Lever Action Supreme merges both classic and contemporary firearm technology.

At the heart of the Lever Action Supreme’s capabilities are technical features including a rotating bolt action mechanism, an adjustable and match-grade trigger, and a barrel that is free-floated and threaded at the end for the attachment of a muzzle device.

Remarkably, it discards the external hammer, a significant departure from traditional lever-action rifles. The firearm also sports an ambidextrous magazine release, facilitating operational ease for both left and right-handed users. As of now, the Lever Action Supreme is available in .223/5.56 or .300 Blackout variants.

Weighing in at around 6 lb 8 oz, the Lever Action Supreme is a versatile tool, poised to cater to a variety of shooting requirements. “Henry is reinventing the lever action,” announces Henry Repeating Arms’ Chief R&D Engineer, Geoff Ader, indicating the company’s resolve to blend tradition and innovation.

Henry Lever Action Supreme has an estimated MSRP of around $1,200. The rifle is set to commence shipping to retailers in the next quarter. It remains to be seen how well it will be received by the market.

They'll be competing against their own Long Ranger Express.
This looks and sounds almost exactly like the Fightlite Herring Model 2024, which is coming out this spring but was announced last year.
But the Fightlite Herring Model 2024 has one huge advantage over the Henry, because the Herring Model 2024 is compatible with all standard AR-15 uppers, so it’s multi-caliber just like an AR-15 rifle is! You can have one Herring 2024 “lower” and then get multiple uppers in different calibers, not just 5.56 and 300 BLK (which will be their initial offerings that come with the rifle), but any caliber of your choice, such as 450 Bushmaster, 350 Legend, 6.5 Grendel, 400 Legend, 6.8 SPC, or whatever your heart desires. If I provide a link, it will get sent to moderation, so just Google Fightlite Herring Model 2024.
The Herring Model 2024 is also over a pound lighter than the Henry at only 5.7 pounds (I found another review that said the Henry is 6.8 pounds).

I do like the looks of the Henry better, as it’s wood, which helps those of us stuck behind the iron curtain (in gun-hating blue states) to avoiding being charged with excessive force for using an “evil scary black rifle” to defend against home invaders! The Herring Model 2024 is black (and therefore "evil and scary-looking" to blue state prosecutors and juries, who think black means "evil scary"), but it's more practical, with its upper having a full-length top rail and M-Lok on all other sides like an AR-15, which lets you accessorize it much more easily (but that also gives it a tactical look that many lever-action rifle users dislike, so that’s not necessarily an advantage to everyone’s eyes). But I’m sure Ranger Point Precision will eventually come out with a tactical M-Lok forearm for the Henry H023 like they did for the Henry Long Ranger.
