LaRue Tactical has an interesting new take on the classic carry handle mounting rail. The AccARizer rail runs from the carry handle to the front sight post with one continuous rail surface. Let’s take a look at the details.

Traditional carry handle rails are either a short segment running along the top of the carry handle (sometimes extending slightly ahead), or are a gooseneck that sits below the irons but above the handguard. In contrast, the AccARizer is a full-length rail. It mounts to the mounting screw hole in the carry handle and replaces the front sight with another screw mount. 

Obviously, that means the iron sights are not usable with the AccARizer installed. LaRue includes a set of pistol-style irons that can be mounted anywhere on the rail to suit user preference. The forward segment between the upper and the front sight also has M-LOK-compatible mounting locations for other accessories like flashlights. LaRue lists a weight of 8.2 ounces for the full unit. It’s also worth noting that it will only fit carbine-length front sights.

We were approached with a request to modernize an existing surplus of Vietnam-era carbine style rifles with fixed carry handles and A2 front sight posts.

The solution needed functionality to mount modern accessories like lights, lasers, and optics while maintaining the existing receiver and leaving the barrel in place.

Made of aluminum used in advanced Jet Fighters and weighing in at just 8.2 ounces, our new LaRue AccARizer™ (Accessory AR Riser) is the result of this project.

The AccARizer™ allows for M-Lok accessories to be mounted on the 3 and 9 o’clock positions, as well as a full MIL-STD-1913 Picatinny Rail along the top.

With this rail, you can modernize older rifles that have a fixed carry handle receiver and carbine length gas system and A2 front sight post.

The provided hardware uses the existing mounting hole in the carry handle and replaces the front sight post, with no permanent modifications to the firearm required.

The rail also ships with iron sights that can be mounted along the pre-threaded holes along the top. These 1911-style sights allow for rapid target acquisition and engagement if no optic is mounted.
