22LR pistols are probably the best hosts for pistol suppressors. They’re fun, super quiet with subsonic ammunition, and of course, don’t cost a lot to shoot. Volquartsen recognizes this and has just released their new 3″ Mini Scorpion pistol with the specific purpose of making a more suppressor-friendly pistol that’s still accurate, and reliable.

The Mini Scorpion – Volquartsen’s New Rimfire Suppressor Host

Volquartsen Firearms, an industry leader in precision rimfire firearms manufacturing, adds to their pistol lineup with the new Mini Scorpion 22 LR.

Volquartsen’s most compact Scorpion package features an overall length of approximately 8″ and weighs only 1 lb. 12 oz. The 3″ Scorpion LLV has been combined with the Volquartsen lightweight VF Target Frame in the 1911 grip angle to create a very lightweight and extremely accurate 22 LR.

The 3″ Scorpion LLV upper features a stainless steel barrel (with stainless steel, laser-hardened breech) housed in an aluminum shroud. This design provides match-grade accuracy in a lightweight package. The barrel is threaded 1/2 x 28, making it the perfect suppressor host. An integral Picatinny rail on top is standard.

The Volquartsen Competition Bolt with DLC Coating ensures smooth operation and function. This bolt is a must when shooting suppressed.

The 3″ Scorpion LLV upper will also be available as a standalone product which is compatible with the Ruger® MK II and MK III pistols.

“Shooting rimfires suppressed is more popular now than ever and the Mini Scorpion provides the perfect suppressor host. Its 3″ barrel length allows for a lightweight, compact pistol even with the suppressor installed”, commented Volquartsen President Scott Volquartsen.

Mini Scorpion pistol features include:

  • A ½ x 28 threaded stainless steel 3” barrel with stainless steel laser-hardened breech within a type III hard anodized aluminum shroud
  • Volquartsen Accurizing Kit for 2.25 lb. trigger pull
  • DLC-coated Volquartsen Competition Bolt
  • Volquartsen Thread Protector
  • Utilizes the Volquartsen 3″ Scorpion LLV Upper
  • Aluminum VF Target Frame in the 1911 Grip Angle
  • Hogue® grips
  • Weight 1 lb. 12 oz.
  • Overall length 8.375″
  • 22 LR

The new Volquartsen Mini Scorpion is going to retail for $1,481.50 and comes from the factory virtually decked out for competition shooting or just for use as an accurate and quiet suppressor host. For more information, you can visit http://volquartsen.com/.

Damn that's a lot of money. A strait blowback gun like a 22 is so much simpler than anything bigger seems like it should be reflected in the price. I guess not

@F5ver You can get a Ruger or Buckmark for a lot cheaper, or more self-defense/tactical style like Sig P322, S&W, Glock, Walther, etc. Volquartsen is like the bespoke target shooting performance brand, may not need to buy one if you are just looking to plink tin cans in the field, unless you want to flex the brand to your buddies.
