Wilson Combat has spared no expense in developing the new generation New Ultralight Arms (NULA) line of bolt action rifles. Wilson Combat has taken Melvin Forbes’ legendary rifle design and integrated several improvements by leveraging modern manufacturing methods and our 45 years of experience producing industry-leading quality firearms. The modern NULA rifle takes Melvin’s time-tested design to the next level of accurate and dependable bolt action rifles. NULA will prove to be the future definitive choice in bolt action rifles.
Wilson Combat NULA Model 20 rifles retain the impressive light weight of the original New Ultralight Arms Model 20 weighing in from 4 lb 15 oz to 5 lb 4oz depending on the chambering and barrel length. The Wilson Combat NULA Model 20 rifles are currently available in the following calibers, barrel lengths and twist rates: .243 Winchester (20″ and 22″ barrels, 1:10″ twist rate), 6.5 Creedmoor (20″ and 22″ barrels, 1:8″ twist rate), 7mm-08 Remington (20″ barrel, 1:9″ twist rate), .308 Winchester (16.25″ and 20″ barrels, 1:11.25″ twist rate) and .358 Winchester (16.25″ and 20″ barrels, 1:14″ twist rate). The company notes that more chambering options will be added later. The light profile barrels of these rifles are made of 416R stainless steel, are button rifled, honed, double stress relieved, have 5/8×24 threaded muzzles and Armor-Tuff finish.
The receivers of Wilson Combat NULA Model 20 rifles are EDM cut and machined out of 4140 steel and the bolts are machined from 4340 steel. Both the receivers and bolts have an ArmorLube DLC coating. The receivers are drilled and tapped for installing optics mounts. The carbon fiber stocks feature reinforced receiver walls, a 13.5″ length of pull, are fitted with Pachmayr 1″ Decelerator recoil pads and nitrided sling studs, and are available in Kodiak Rogue or Canyon Rogue camouflage options.
