The Way Back Machine: Starting GunMag Warehouse

Imagine you’re in the year 2012, for those old enough to remember it. Dick Clark just crossed the rainbow bridge, a cruise ship is sinking off the coast of Italy, and you need some new magazines. The problem is you have a weird hipster gun and finding mags is difficult. When you finally find someone who carries them, they’re always out of stock. This struggle is universal, but in this very same year, the folks at GunMag Warehouse decided to change things. The company was formed in 2012 around the idea of having every magazine you could ever want in one place, ready to ship.

The Scope of Available Products (No Pun Intended)

That was a long time ago. The ache in my back from this desk chair confirms this. A lot can change in 11 years, and for GunMag, it certainly did. They’ve now expanded from just selling magazines, to offering ammunition, soft gear, optics, targets, and a list that keeps running. 

Optics have taken over as the default sighting system on most firearms, and GunMag sells plenty of them. If your back hurts worse than mine, they sell iron sights, too. You’ll have to work pretty hard to find a model of red dot or scope that they don’t carry. Any optic worth looking at can be found for your pistol or rifle. If shotguns are your thing, there are also options for you. Lights are essential for many aspects of shooting, especially home defense, and there are so many options to choose from. They carry handhelds, weapon-mounted lights, and even lanterns. The electronics are rounded out by the selection of visible and IR lasers, and even night vision for you nighttime hunters and noodle boys.

I tend to order as many things as I can in one go, and if I’m grabbing mags, I’d love to include the stuff that goes in them. GunMag carries ammunition in many calibers. I was going to list them, but it would fill the page, and links are far easier. They have all of the common rounds available, as well as some of the more “Tito Jackson” calibers. There are options for handgun, rifle, and shotgun shooters, as well as the ability to search by the purpose of the ammo you’re looking for.

Under the Range Gear tab of the website, you can find everything else you’d need for a day on the range. There are holsters to carry your pistols and slings for your rifles, as well as the soft goods you need to carry your loadout. You can even pick up a bag to carry all of it in. Did I forget one? Oh! Magazines, of course. They sell magazines and magazine accessories. Rifle, pistol, shotgun, whatever you need. The section I spend the most time in is the GunMag Exclusives. GunMag Warehouse has worked directly with other companies to collaborate on exclusive gear.
