Leapers has announced they are making their own magazines. Their UTG AK magazine is coming out soon and has a lot of features for a sub $20 polymer magazine.

UTG AK Magazine

Leapers has already made magazines for other guns like AR-15, Glock, and AR-10 style firearms. Well, now they are adding an AK magazine to their line of polymer magazines. The UTG AK magazine weighs 7 oz or 198 grams. According to Leapers, this magazine is 9.13 inches tall, the base plate is 2.5 inches long and the mag body is only 1.26 inches wider. I would like to know the height with the feed lips positioned normally.

The magazine looks rather straightforward. It is windowed like their AR magazines and has a bright blue follower. The removable floor plate has slots molded into it. These slots allow you to have makeshift magazine pulls using lanyards or similar materials.

The UTG AK magazine will retail for $19.97. It is available now for pre-order on Leaper’s website. It is estimated to be available around early October 2023. I have not looked at UTG magazines before so I am curious how well they have worked for those who use them?
