Devil Dog Concepts came up with an AR-10 version of their Hard Charger AR-15 side charging handle. Like the Hard Charger, the new Devil Dog Concepts HC-10 is a drop-in product that replaces the standard charging handle providing a left-side non-reciprocating charging handle while retaining the regular AR charging method.

Devil Dog Concepts HC-10 side charging handle is made of 7075 aluminum and stainless steel. It is installed onto the top Picatinny rail of the upper receiver and can be adjusted to fit different receiver thicknesses and rail heights. The HC-10 side charging handle can be field stripped without a use of tools. The company offers two handle design options called Traditional and Tactical. The former is an all-around option while the latter is advertised to be designed to enhance speed and ease of use in a tactical environment while operating your rifle with gloved hands. The overall weight of the Devil Dog Concepts HC-10 charging handle assembly is six ounces.

Some of the other benefits that Devil Dog Concepts claim their side charging handle design provides are the use of gross motor skills for manipulating the charging handle which allows staying focused on the target as there is no need to shift your attention on actions requiring fine motor skills, retaining the stock weld when charging the gun, removed stress from the roll pin and reduced handle torque eliminating the possibility of over-torquing the handle.
