Back at NRAAM 2023, TFBTV’s Hop and I had a chance to check out the subtly launched Anderson Manufacturing AM15 Dissipator Carbine. The concept behind the dissipator is twofold. Firstly, by using a shorter barrel, the rifle becomes more maneuverable and lighter in weight. Secondly, the longer sight radius provided by the rifle-length front sight post allows for improved accuracy. However, there were reliability issues with early dissipators due to reduced dwell time caused by the shortened barrel – this doesn’t seem to be the case at all with the one that I’ve had a chance to shoot and I hope the production models follow this same trend as this is a rifle I’d certainly love to own myself.
