Taurus has just announced an essential safety notification regarding certain GX4 pistols that were assembled and sold exclusively within the United States. Taurus has recently discovered that under specific circumstances, these pistols may discharge when accidentally dropped. Taurus urges all GX4 owners to take this matter seriously and follow the instructions provided to ensure the safety of themselves and others. Taurus Issues Immediate Safety Recall for GX4 Pistols

Some GX4 pistols assembled and sold only in the United States may, under certain circumstances, discharge when dropped.

Safely unload and stop using your GX4 IMMEDIATELY. Failure to observe this warning may result in injury or death to you or others.

Go to GX4SafetyNotice.com and enter your pistol’s serial number.

The website will promptly let you know whether your GX4 is subject to this Notice. The serial number is located on the rear of the pistol. Follow the Website’s instructions.

If your GX4 is NOT covered by this Notice, please disregard it.

The Tuaurs GX4 thus far has been a more or less well-respected addition to the micro-compact 9mm pistol market and it seems that this issue may be a more recent development as can happen from time to time when thousands upon thousands of one item are being made. I’ve already checked both of my Taurus GX4 pistols and neither one of them has been affected by the recall. I’d urge anyone else who has a GX4 pistol to confirm that theirs isn’t as well.
