Uintah Precision, a company primarily known for making bolt action AR uppers and complete firearms, has entered the muzzleloader market. However, what they make is not your great-great-grandfather’s muzzleloader. The new Uintah Precision Modern Sporting Muzzleloader can be easily mistaken for one of their AR bolt guns, but if you look closely, you’ll notice a ramrod over the barrel!

Uintah Precision Modern Sporting Muzzleloader is a .45 caliber gun that utilizes 209 shotgun primers for the ignition of the powder charge. The fired primers are extracted by the bolt which has dual extractors to ensure that spent primers don’t get stuck. The 24″ 416 stainless steel barrel is made by Preferred Barrels, has a 1:20″ twist rate, Cerakote finish and features a muzzle brake. The ramrod is made of aluminum with a brass jag. Uintah Precision Modern Sporting Muzzleloader also features a 15″ M-LOK handguard, Velocity Triggers Classic 3-lb single stage trigger and comes with a Magpul K2+ pistol grip and PRS Lite buttstock.
Both the upper and lower receivers of Modern Sporting Muzzleloader are made of 6061 billet aluminum. The upper receiver is identical to the uppers of Uintah Precision UPR-15 bolt action rifles and is compatible with mil-spec AR-15 lower receivers. This will allow you to install a muzzleloading, bolt action or semi-auto uppers on your standard lower receiver to meet the hunting season requirements. The company also sells the upper receiver assembly separately.
The MSRP of the Uintah Precision Moden Sporting Muzzleloader is $1,776. The upper receiver assembly can be purchased for $1098. The Modern Sporting Muzzleloader rifle is shipped in a Plano All Weather double rifle case.
