Built for the Glock 19 series of pistols, the new Radian Afterburner compensator and Ramjet barrel have just been announced. The new ported barrel and micro compensator are meant to improve performance and also aid in holstering. The Radian Afterburner is now also one of the smallest pistol compensators on the market. The Afterburner micro compensator will be available for Glock 19 pistols generation 3 through 5 and the Ramjet barrel will feature the same compatibility.

The increased length that the barrel and micro-compensator add to the Glock 19 effectively turns the pistol into a Glock 17 length platform meaning your pistol will now be compatible with all Glock 17 holsters. With the increasing popularity of pistol-mounted red dots and the prevalence of a high rate of fire shooting sports like USPSA and steel challenge, this compensator should be a boon to those who compete and fun addition for those who just want to have quicker split times when on the flat range.

New Radian Afterburner & Ramjet Micro Compensator and Barrel

The Afterburner and Ramjet are meant to be used in tandem in order to get that 44% recoil reduction for 115-grain ammunition. In order to take advantage of the Radian Afterburner and Ramjet combo, you’ll have to subscribe to the product page to be notified when it becomes available for order. The Radian Afterburner + Ramjet combo will be available at a starting price of $389.95 which is nearly 3/4 the cost of a new Glock 19 pistol. However, this may be a small price to pay for those who compete and want to use their already customized Glock 19 pistol. I would also be interested to see if the barrel can be used on its own and if Radian plans on selling the components individually. What are your thoughts on this new barrel and micro compensator combo?

Very cool design, they've genuinely created a better mousetrap here.

The KKM comp of the original Roland Special (which launched the comp craze) turned the G19 into a G34 length slide. By comparison, this design by Radian is only G17 length - substantially shorter.

In fact, its as short or shorter then just having a threaded barrel with thread protector.

This is achieved by replacing the barrel threading with a sort of 'chunk port' that feeds directly into the single chamber compensator, and allows the comp to simply slide over the barrel and be secured with a set screw. Not only is this shorter and easier to install, but it also makes the comp California legal, as CA prohibits pistols with threaded barrels that can mount a suppressor.

All in all, a legit improvement in pistol / comp design, and opens the door for comps to become a standard accessory. https://uploads.disquscdn.c...

@Harald Mustafah Good find, that tracks with a rumor I had heard as well, that Rivian had acquired the design from WAR.

If it wasn't 400 freaking dollars I'd consider it.
