Maven has slowly but surely started making its way into the forefront of people’s minds when it comes to riflescopes for precision and hunting applications. The new Maven RS.5 4-24x50mm Second Focal Plane Riflescope is now available for shooters who want the magnification of a powerful riflescope without the downsides of the reticle that a first focal plane riflescope comes with. Hopefully, this new optic will live up to the reputation that Maven has started to build for itself with affordable optics that still deliver on every shot.

Maven Introduces The New RS.5 4-24x50mm SFP Riflescope
The new Maven RS.5 4-24x50mm SFP – built for those who require the precision of long range dialing with the fine reticle benefits of a second focal plane.
When we evaluated our RS Series lineup, a common refrain we heard from our customer base was the need for a solid long range scope that combined features of our top scopes in a second focal plane optical system that allowed for an easy-to-see reticle at all magnifications – enter the RS.5 4-24x50mm SFP.
This premium model RS.5 riflescope is 14.4 inches in length, weighs 25.5 ounces and comes with a lot of features you won’t find on some less expensive optics. The Maven RS.5 features a resettable zero stop, 10 levels of red reticle illumination, and also comes with a lifetime warranty.
While I am personally more comfortable with First Focal Plane (FFP) scopes, I can see the appeal of Second Focal Plane (SFP) optics as well. For a lot of hunters, SFP has been the standard for short to mid-range hunting of game and also tends to come in at a lower price than FFP scopes. In addition to this, the reticle also doesn’t tend to shrink to extremely small size at lower magnifications making it harder to see your suspensions. The new Maven RS.5 4-24x50mm SFP riflescope is available now for $1,400 and is available in two reticle options and comes with a neoprene cover.
