The folding pocket knife is a near-ubiquitous piece of everyone’s everyday carry tools. Along with a flashlight, firearm, and a ballpoint pen, I almost never leave the house without a knife. While Cold Steel offers a wide variety of both EDC and purpose build fixed blade knives, their lineup continues to expand. This time Cold Steel has introduced their new Range Boss lock-back folding pocket knife for everyday use.

New Range Boss Folding Pocket Knives from Cold Steel

Irving, TX – Cold Steel, manufacturer and innovator of purpose-built knives and blade tools for everyday carry, tactical, and hunting applications, has just released the new Range Boss folding lockback for 2021.

Cold Steel engineers developed the Range Boss to be a true general-purpose folder that is thin and light enough to carry in a pocket, waistband, or jacket yet is sized for any task.

The Range Boss blade is constructed of 4034SS steel, with a flat-ground profile that is easy to sharpen and will stay sharp for extended use. Further contributing to blade performance is the four-inch length and clip point, making it suitable for a broad range of cutting jobs, including field dressing and utility work. The blade also features a stonewashed finish for a sharp look and reduced glare. A thumb-assist stud makes one-hand opening a breeze.

Housing the folded blade and Cold Steel’s industry-leading Tri-Ad® locking system is a 5.25-inch Zy-Ex™ handle. Available in Black or OD Green, this glass-reinforced nylon handle material includes a tactile stippling pattern and jimping along the spine to ensure a positive grip with slippery hands or when wearing gloves. For added carry convenience, an ambidextrous pocket clip is included.

The new Range Boss EDC knife from Cold Steel will feature a 4-inch 4034 stainless steel blade, a steel pocket clip, and will have an overall length of 9-1/4 inches when opened. The knife will be sold for an MSRP of $51.99. One additional feature that I noticed that isn’t listed is that the pocket clip appears to be reversible which I think should be a standard option on all pocket knives equipped with a pocket clip.
