I'd like to briefly echo a key point Mr. Smith made.
Now, it's been over 45 years ago. The headmaster, from our 900 year-old martial arts ryu in Japan, was visiting the US. Our little dojo was, at the time, one of the first branches of the school outside of the country. During one extended discussion, we talked about fighting multiple assailants. He then spoke on more of a parallel line and went into great detail in describing the best strategies and sensibilities in AVOIDING the situation altogether. "Don't walk down that alley in the first place," he said. Over the next couple of weeks, the sensei put as much emphasis on 'situational awareness' and 'thoughtfulness' as he did on technique.
The concept stuck with me and served me extremely well all over the world- in the military, law enforcement, doing contract work and on date nights in Manhattan.
The human, intuitive 'sense of danger' is highly evolved but like firearms training, it should be studied, continually refined and enthusiastically practiced.
Clint is an old self entitled boomer. Slapping his name on poor quality products, or over-priced products, and now speaks down on the brace.
