Ever since photography was invented in the early 1800s it has been a medium of almost limitless possibilities. Today most people have at least a smartphone to capture what’s going on around, and the professionals use even more advanced cameras and optics, like here. At TFB we’ve been running our Photo Of The Day for years, where we share the best photos with “firearms” as the lowest common denominator.

Above we see U.S. Marine Pfc. Adrian Solis, a student with Alpha Company, Infantry Training Battalion, School of Infantry – West, as he fires on targets at unknown distances at Range 210F. The optic looks like a Trijicon VCOG (Variable Combat Optical Gunsight).

These pictures are from the Infantry Marine Course at SOI-West on Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, California.

IMC is a 14-week pilot course designed to create better trained and more lethal entry-level infantry Marines prepared for near-peer conflicts. The course uses a redesigned learning model for students intended to develop their capabilities for independent and adaptive thought and action. The program of instruction for IMC has been in development for a year and follows guidance from the 2019 Commandant’s Planning Guidance and Force Design 2030.
