SILENCER SATURDAY #164: Innovative Arms Slingshot On A Bobcat

Welcome back to another Silencer Saturday brought to you by Yankee Hill Machine, manufacturers of YHM Nitro N20 multi-caliber suppressor. Last week we got a quick look at the 9SX pistol can. This week we are going to try out the Innovative Arms Slingshot Ti on the hot and new Beretta Bobcat 21A Covert. Why is this my favorite Innovative Arms suppressor to date? Let’s take a look.

Note: A full review of the Beretta Bobcat Covert will be headed to you from our very own Luke C. on TFB’s Rimfire Report. Keep an eye out for more information in the weeks ahead. I won’t steal Luke’s thunder, but I’m really impressed with the quality, feel and performance as a suppressor host of the Beretta 21A Bobcat Covert. More than I expected I would be.

SILENCER SATURDAY #164: Innovative Arms Slingshot On A Bobcat

The Slingshot Ti is one of those surprising little cans that exceeds expectations. Going into all monocore suppressor reviews I cringe at having to talk about first round pop – that first shot that is louder than all the others. Rimfire silencers are also the pinnacle of chasing decibels. With subsonic ammo, I expect to be amazed at the lack of a report. I also expect a small and lightweight package (not what she said) that disappears on the end of a barrel. And last but not least, I want a rimfire suppressor that is easy to clean.

    Performance:

The Slingshot Ti ranks near the top of the current market leaders when it comes to suppression. Using CCI Subsonic Semiauto rounds in the Bobcat Covert, I was extremely pleased with the way the combination sounded. Especially considering it was 20 degrees with a thick layer of snow and no foliage to dampen the report.

    First Round Pop:

While there was a slight bit of pop making that first shot louder than the rest, it was minimal. All monocore suppressors battle this annoying phenomenon, but Innovative Arms has certainly done an excellent job of mitigating it.

    Weight/Size:

It’s not the smallest or the lightest on the market, but the Slingshot Ti offers a great balance between a titanium build and price.

    Serviceability:

I haven’t had a chance to run hundreds of rounds through the Slingshot Ti, it is very simple to disassemble and clean.

    Conclusions:

The Innovative Arms Slingshot Ti is a diamond in the rough. With it’s performance, size and weight, price and design, it ranks with the current headliners in the rimfire suppressor world. Especially considering that it is a monocore design, the Slingshot Ti deserves more attention than it currently receives.

Thanks for reading everyone. Be safe, have fun and we’ll see you here next weekend for another Silencer Saturday.
