OSS Launches the New Helix HX-QD 556 Ti Lightweight Rifle Suppressor

OSS Suppressors has just released its latest addition to its line of Helix Suppressors – the HX-QD 556 Ti. The HX-QD 556 Ti is a lightweight titanium suppressor that cuts an additional 4oz of weight from its 17-4 stainless steel brother. OSS claims that unlike other Titanium suppressors that have a shorter lifespan, the HX-QD 556 Ti has a durability that delivers in excess of 40,000 rounds.

Dipping into the white paper provided on the OSS website there are a few other interesting pieces we can see about the Ti release of the suppressor. The suppressor is capable of delivering a Sound Pressure Level of 140 dB at the shooter’s ear per the TOP 3-2-045 Testing Methodology. This result, however, is highly dependent on the weapon system used, barrel length ammunition, and environment.

The white paper also goes on to list a maximum external temperature for the suppressor of 1238 degrees Fahrenheit. This was tested using a reliability stress test which consists of 8 magazines shot in succession after the system has cooled to a temperature of 120 degrees Fahrenheit using forced air before proceeding to the next magazine. During this test, the firearm is not cleaned or maintained until after the test is complete.

The suppressor is available for purchase online through Silencer Shop. The suppressor goes for an MSRP of $1,199 plus the additional cash you’ll have to throw down for the transfer and tax stamp.

@Beju I've fired both an AAC and an OSS on an SAR Tavor, and I can tell you I much prefer the OSS. OSS, no Tavor face. AAC, mucho Tavor face [till the owner put some kind of gasket maker in the right place to block the gas coming back]. Pain in the butt to keep wiping the soot off your shooting glasses.
