POTD: Heckler & Koch MP5K in Full-Auto

    Heckler & Koch MP5k

At TFB we’re devoted to finding the best and most interesting firearms-related photos together with a short story. You’ll find these photos here, and what could be better than a Heckler & Koch MP5K going fully automatic?

Look at the expression on the soldier’s face (can’t blame him) and look at the heatwave above the HK.

The MP5K was created in 1976, and K stands for kurz or short. The “K” has a vertical foregrip on the handguard and the barrel is only 4.5″ (114 mm). It also has a shorter trigger group frame (look at the back and compare it to a normal MP5). The MP5K is a rather difficult firearm to shoot well, it really needs a red dot sight.

A student assigned to the U. S. Army John F. Kennedy Special Warfare Center and School who is in the Special Forces Weapons Sergeant Course fires an MP5K submachine gun during weapons training at Fort Bragg, North Carolina May 12, 2020. The Soldiers were trained to employ, maintain and engage targets with select U.S. and foreign pistols, rifles, shotguns, submachine and machine guns, grenade launchers and mortars and in the utilization of observed fire procedures.
