Brownells Glock G19, G17 and G34 Slides with Aimpoint ACRO Cut
Brownells has released new versions of their Gen 3 Glock slides that are milled to take Aimpoint ACRO P-1 red dot sights. The ACRO cut is machined directly into the slide and oriented as low as possible still retaining the compatibility with OEM Glock slide parts.
The Aimpoint ACRO has a very robust way of mounting. This dovetail mount with a recoil lug cut in the middle should allow firmly locking the sight in place and prevent any movement in all axes. Having the mounting interface milled right into the slide is also a way more solid setup compared to plates bolted onto the slide.
Probably the main advantage offered by ACRO red dot sights is the enclosed emitter design. Compared to the majority of other handgun reflex sights, the red light-emitting diode (LED) of ACRO sight is located inside the housing protected by the front and rear lens. This design ensures that regardless of the type and amount of the elements the sight is exposed to (dirt, mud, dust, water, you name it) as soon as you can clean the lens, you’ll be able to see the dot. With open emitter designs, it sometimes may be challenging to clean the little diode and the chances are high you won’t be able to return the sight to action in field conditions. The downside of the enclosed emitter design is, of course, the bulkier housing and a bit heavier overall weight.

Where the Hell is the 26/27 model?
I carry my formerly issued 27 nearly every day off-duty usually as a 9 thanks to a LW threaded bbl and Magpul mags.
Have considered RMR milling but in my area rain and mud are everywhere and want a closed emitter.
I would love to pop an ACRO on it, and be capable of hits at > 50 yards.
I love aimpoint and have a couple. But I just can't get into this one. It looks like a console TV on top of a slide. Just my personal opinion. You know what they say about opinions...😁
