At Shot Show this week, 2A Armament announced their brand new lightweight titanium bolt carrier group. 2A Armament has come out with a number of coated bolt carrier groups as well as lightweight options, but this is by far the lightest option available from them.

Specs and Purpose

The Titanium Regulated BCG helps eliminate nearly all felt recoil by swapping out the standard BCG with the new light titanium bolt carrier group. 2A’s new titanium bolt carrier group also has a spot to regulate pressure through the ejection port of your AR. Having the ability to adjust the amount of gas coming back from the BCG rather than an adjustable gas block is a fairly new idea but makes tuning much easier than before with an adjustable gas block. The overall weight of the gas block is 5.95 oz when its in its fully assembled which is one of the lightest BCGs on the market today. MSRP on the 2A Armament’s Titanium Regulated Bolt Carrier Group will be $399.99 and will start shipping in the next couple months.

Overall Initial Impressions

The new bolt carrier group from 2A Armament is not cheap by any means but seems to be a very well thought out and extremely lightweight option. I had the chance to play with a show model at their booth and it honestly blew my mind how lightweight the carrier really is. I can see this being beneficial for competition and shooters who want to tune their guns for little to no recoil. Its also insanely easy to adjust the gas settings from the ejection port which is a definite plus when tuning a gun either suppressed or with various types of ammunition.
