Welcome everyone to the 29th edition of ‘Hot Gat or Fudd Crap?’, one of our many series here on TFB. If you’re new to the series (and you’ve been missing out), this is where we look at the most obscure firearms that are actually for sale and ask the question – is this gat a sweet deal or only have fudd appeal? Each week the TFB staff weighs in with their thoughts, but readers get the final say in the poll at the bottom of each article.
In our last edition, our poll showed that you the readers, found the Spawn themed MAC-11 to be overwhelmingly hellish.
At this time the original listing is still available and the MAC hasn’t sold. If you know any Spawn fans, you might want to forward this listing on to them.
In this week’s edition of HGFC, we look at the most tactical Remington 870 ever created. As is tradition, this tactical shotty is currently up for sale on GunBroker for $840.00 and No Reserve.
HOT GAT or FUDD CRAP? “‘Hell Yeah, Brother’ or ‘I Live with my Mother'”
Let’s see what the Staff had to say about this week’s offering:
“The perfect gun for John Wick…If John Wick was a meth dealer from east Arkansas. Instead of hunting crime bosses, he could track down his lost chromosomes”– James Reeves
“Radio Shack called. They want all their stuff back.” – Pete
“I hope there’s a plague that wipes out the world population based solely on this shotgun alone” – A. Costa
“The shotty for basement-dwelling dweebs who wish ‘The Walking Dead’ was a documentary.” – Will P.
“I may like ridiculous builds with excessive gear but it has to be made of quality products. This is far from it. This guy looks like he went on a $100 Aliexpress shopping spree.”– Nick C.
“It’s like a Remington 870 got raped by a Decepticon and the pregnancy was interrupted midterm.” – Giorgio O.
Selling this tacticool 12ga is GunBroker seller Recreational-Shooter, located in Reno, Nevada (that explains a lot). Let’s see what they had to say about this full featured blaster.
Note: The full item description reads like a novel, so here are some key quotes.
“UP FOR AUCTION IS THIS SINISTER CUSTOM 870! THIS IS MY LATEST BUILD WHICH TOOK OVER A MONTH…..”
“I’VE GOT AT LEAST 100 HOURS INTO THIS BUILD!”
“THERE’S NOT ANOTHER REM 870 IDENTICAL TO IT ANYWHERE ON THE PLANET!”
“WHEN FULLY LOADED WITH 3″ SHELLS, THIS TRUE TACTICAL WEAPONS SYSTEM HOLDS A MASSIVE 21 ROUNDS ON BOARD! (Dry weight is 12 lbs)”
“NO EXSPENSE WAS SPARED IN BOTH TIME AND MATERIALS WITH THIS BUILD.”
“THIS TRULY IS A TACTICAL SHOWPIECE, DESIGNED AND BUILT TO PROVIDE ULTIMATE HOME AND PERSONAL PROTECTION AGAINST COME WHAT MAY, WITH AN INTIMIDATING PRESENCE FOR AN INDEFINITE NUMBER OF DECADES TO COME!”
At 12 lbs unloaded this might be the most unwieldy shotgun ever created. Forget about bandoliers, lets store all the extra ammo on the gun.
While I’m sure there were plenty of expenses, sadly a useful optic was not on that list. But who needs to aim anyways.
The extension tube mounted standoff device (along with everything on this build) is even more confusing. This looks to be more of a safety hazard that anything remotely useful.
Hey, at least when you’ve finished dispensing your 21 rounds of ammo, you have enough lights and lasers to permanently blind your enemies with.
HGFC has featured many heavily modified firearms, but it’s safe to say this is the clear victor. If the goal was to attach as many items as possible, then it’s mission accomplished.
It’s a safe bet that this 870 might be the most over-the-top tactical “thing” ever created.
