PRIME vs RUAG

Background:

Back in April TFB covered the developing story between PRIME Ammunition and RUAG Ammotec. At that time this writer had had a lengthy discussion with the CEO of PRIME and determined the issues presented were complicated and would likely not be resolved quickly. Fortunately, for both parties, proceedings did not drag on as long as anticipated.

The latest:

In mid-June PRIME announced through a video with Sniper’s Hide that they would be releasing a new line of ammunition made from American sourced components. This represented a big step forward for PRIME getting their feet back under them. That video can be found here

On Tuesday PRIME released this statement:

PRIME Ammunition and RUAG End Litigation
Las Vegas, NV, July 16, 2019 – Effective immediately, Citizens Ammunition, LLC DBA PRIME and RUAG Ammotec have agreed to conclude the litigation between the companies. Terms of the settlement will not be released. According to PRIME Ammunition’s founder and CEO, Jim O’Shaughnessy, “RUAG contacted us and asked us to conclude the litigation. We reached a mutually agreeable settlement and are taking their offer to restore the business relationship under careful consideration.”

What does the future hold?

It is impossible to tell if this will be the end of the turmoil, but for now, it appears to be back to business as usual, with the addition of some American flavor to PRIME’s lineup. Personally, this writer is happy to see a resolution of the matter so PRIME can get back to doing what they do, which is selling quality ammo and supporting the long-range shooting community, with an emphasis on youth and female shooters.
