POTD: Minigun Monday II

    This is the second article in a series of “Photo Of The Day”, where we admire pictures of Miniguns of various kinds and situations.

    The series is called Minigun Monday. Miniguns on a Monday – it’s as simple as that!

    Today we take a look at the GAU-17 Minigun, mounted on Special Operations Craft Riverine (SOC-R), which is specifically designed for the clandestine insertion and extraction of U.S. Navy SEALs and other special operations forces along shallow waterways and open water environments.

    Since you’re a reader here, you may have seen a movie from 2012 called Act of Valor?

    If you’ve seen it I am sure you remember the scene where the Navy SEALS extract the people and soldiers with boats and a little help from Miniguns.
