TFB reported about the initial announcement of this new 9mm competition handgun a little over a month ago. And now, the P320 XFIVE Legion is officially released and listed on SIG’s website. This is the first striker-fired pistol to become a Legion series firearm. It packs a bunch cool competition gun features, however, its most interesting and unique part is the TXG tungsten-infused polymer frame (grip module). The patent-pending technology of infusing tungsten into the polymer makes the frame of this pistol weigh as much as steel frames.

The heavy frame increases the overall weight of the gun making it much more controllable and helping to make faster follow-up shots which is, of course, a desirable feature for competition shooters. Now, you are probably asking why not to go with a steel frame if you want it to be as heavy as steel? According to SIG, the advantage of the TXG tungsten-infused grip module is that it combines the weight of steel with the flexibility of the polymer. The stripped TXG grip module weighs about a pound which makes the overall weight of the pistol 43.5 ounces. The company claims that the muzzle flip in this gun is reduced by up to 50%.

SIG Sauer P320 XFIVE Legion comes with a Legion Gray PVD optics-ready lightened slide equipped with Dawson Precision fiber optic front and adjustable rear sights. The slide cut is compatible with SIG Sauer ROMEO1PRO or DeltaPoint Pro red dot sights. This new pistol has a one-piece stainless steel guide rod and 1911-style non-captive recoil spring. It comes assembled with a 14 lb spring but you’ll also find a 12 lb spring in the box. The pistol also features a 5″ bull barrel and skeletonized trigger with a 30% lighter trigger pull. It comes with three 17-round magazines with Henning Group base pads.
