For those who are unaware, the month of June is not just the metaphorical start of summer, but it is also June Safety Month. A month in which the principles of safe firearm handling and storage practices are promoted, shared and passed on to many shooters both old and new in the gun community.

One company that has taken a resounding step to the forefront in getting the word out is Glock with their #followthefour Firearm Safety Campaign for June Safety Month. They are inviting and reminding people to follow the four basic principles of gun safety and share this awareness on social media. SMYRNA, GA. – May 31st, 2019 GLOCK, Inc. continues to spread the message about firearm safety with the annual GLOCK Safety Pledge through the month of June.  Join the 50,000 people who have already taken the pledge to practice the four rules of firearm safety through #FollowTheFour.

GLOCK is asking responsible gun owners to join the movement to help spread awareness of firearm safety by pledging to #followthefour and then tag four friends on social media.

GLOCK actively works year-round to promote firearm safety across the United States and proudly joins a community of law enforcement, community leaders, businesses and the firearms industry to raise public awareness about reducing firearm incidents.

Rule #1 – Treat all Firearms as if they are Loaded

Rule #2 – Never point the muzzle at anything you are not willing to destroy.

Rule #3 – Keep your finger off the trigger until you are ready to fire.

Rule #4 – Always be sure of your target and what’s beyond it.

Seem like pretty basic rules, right? Someone you know could be new to shooting and find this valuable though even if you were aware of them already.
