    Introducing the Deals of the Week, a weekly round-up of some of the best deals on firearms and accessories that can be found on the internet.

    Ruger AR-556 MPR – $579.99

    What the deal is:

    The Ruger AR-556 is a nice AR, which the price normally reflects. It clocks in at 6.8 pounds, an overall length of 35-38.25″ with the adjustable stock, and stands 8″ high. It comes with an 18″ alloy barrel, 15″ M-LOK compatible free floating handguard, and Magpul furniture. True to its name the AR-556 is chambered in in 5.56 NATO, has an 1:8 twist, and the rifle comes with a single 30 round PMAG.

    Why it’s a good deal:

    It’s on sale at Sportsmans Outdoors with a hefty discount. $319 or 35.5% off MSRP. While this deal doesn’t come with sights, lower-end BUIS can be found for an MSRP of around $50, giving you a fully functional rifle for 30% off MSRP.

    Ruger AR-556 MPR with vortex strikefire II red dot – $679.99

    What the deal is:

    The exact same rifle as above, but now with a Vortex StrikeFire II Red Dot. The Vortex is a neat, and usually expensive, sight. The StrikeFire II is has a 4MOA dot, is 5.6″ long, and weighs 7.2 oz. The battery lasts from 300-6,000 hours depending on dot brightness. It has rear-facing controls for easy adjustment of the 10 dot intensity levels, the lowest two of which are night-vision compatible.

    Why it’s a good deal:

    The Vortex StrikeFire II has an MSRP of $239.99, which combined with the Ruger’s MSRP of $899 means this deal should normally run you around $1,140. Instead, it’s on sale for $679.99, or around $460/40% off MSRP. You can buy a lot of 5.56 with $460.

    Sig romeo5 1x20mm red dot & 10 magpul pmags – $199.99

    What the deal is:

    The Sig Sauer Romeo5 1x20mm serves as a compact red dot with ultra-low parallax to better alight point-of-aim and point-of-impact. It has a 2MOA dot, weighs 5.1 oz, is 2.47″ long and stands 1.52″ high. The battery has 50,000+ hours of life. It’d go well with the aforementioned Ruger-556, or would serve well on anyone’s truck gun, home defense gun, or range toy.

    The Magpul PMAG, well you already know what this is. It’s one of the industry leaders in magazines. Gen M2, 30-round capacity for 5.56/.223 AR magazines.

    Why it’s a good deal:

    The Sig Romeo5 has an MSRP of $219.99, which would already make this a good deal. Coming with 10 PMAGs however, which MSRP for $12.95 each, ten of which are valued at $129.50, there’s a substantial discount, $149.50 off MSRP, savings of around 42.8%.

    Leupold mark ar mod-1 3-9x40mm firedot – $299.99

    What the deal is:

    The Leupold Mark AR Mod-1 features variable magnification of 3x-9x, a 40mm lens, and a Firedot G-TMR illuminated reticle. It is 12.6″ long, weighs 12.4 oz, and depending on magnification has a field of view from 33.5′ to 14.1′. The Leupold is a great addition to anyone’s precision shooting setup, suitable for hunters, shooters, or competitors.

    Why it’s a good deal:

    This scope retails for $499.99, and is being sold for $200 off, which is an already great 40% savings. However, it MSRPs for $584.99 on Leupold’s official website, meaning savings of $285 off MSRP, nearly 50%.

    Winchester XPR 308 with vortex crossfire II – $499.99

    What the deal is:

    The Winchester XPR is Winchester’s answer to modern hunting rifles and is intended as the “next generation” of the Model 70. It is a bolt-action, in this case, chambered in 308 Win. The steel barrel measures 22″ with a 1:12 twist in a composite stock, and weighs 6.75 pounds. It holds 3 rounds in the detachable box magazines plus one in the chamber. The rifle comes with a Vortex Crossfire II 3-9x40mm, which is 12″ long and weighs 15 oz. This Vortex has the Dead-Hold BDC reticle, designed for shooting at varying ranges where estimating holdover and windage is a concern.

    Why it’s a good deal:

    Gander is selling this for $81.40 off their original price, a 14% discount. However, it’s also $210 off the MSRP of this deal, saving just under 30% off what Winchester normally sells this combo for.
