Springfield Armory has announced a new XD(M) 4.5″ OSP 9mm pistol that is sure to get a lot of people excited. This model ships with two barrels which adds a lot of value for consumers as opposed to buying them separate of a factory package. You also receive 3 base plates that will afford you the ability to mount most all of your favorite miniature red dots. If you do not have a red dot in the wings waiting to board an XD(M), Springfield Armory is offering a factory package that includes a Vortex Venom 3 MOA Red Dot as well.

Springfield Armory satisfied a lot of shooters with their first iterations of a threaded barrel XD(M), but as with anything, firearm owners always come back wanting more. So not wanting to leave people hanging Springfield Armory implemented a lot of critical feedback and added more value. The complete specification listing for the NEW XD(M) 4.5″ OSP 9mm as presented by Springfield Armory can be read below:

  • MSRP: $710 (Pistol) | $958 (Pistol w/ Vortex Venom 3 MOA Red Dot)

One thing that often gets overlooked within this model and series is buried in its name. The XD(M) model stands for Xtreme Duty (Match). A pistol meant for extreme conditions, reliable duty service and features a Match-Grade quality barrel. So with this pistol you not only have the ability to shoot suppressed with a red dot of your choosing, but you have inherent accuracy built in that supersedes its competitors. Springfield Armory paints a pretty good visual of this with their most recent video of the NEW XD(M) 4.5″ OSP 9mm.

Springfield Armory’s VP of Marketing, Steve Kramer, expands on the value of the XD(M) 4.5″ OSP 9mm and the quality that is poured into this new offering:

You have the versatility of both the threaded and non-threaded barrel without the hassle of going aftermarket which tends to produce complications in fit. Because our barrels are factory crafted, there is no risk of an ill-fitting barrel and we are able to provide the kit at a lower cost to our customers.

The pistol alone retails for $710 which is a pretty good value considering you receive two match-grade barrels to shoot suppressed or un-suppressed. The factory package that includes a Vortex Venom 3 MOA Red Dot is currently benchmarked at $958. So with that pricing in mind and the different components and packages available from Springfield Armory, are you a buyer? What do you guys and gals think? Let us know your thoughts in the Comments below! We always appreciate your feedback.

Can't buy an XDM 9 in CO because of our 15 round mag limit law. So I switched to .40s and .45s. The .40 XDM is also prohibited because it's 16 rd, but I went with a Sig 2022 and M&P 2.0 Compact 4" in .40. Love them!
