Briley Manufacturing has introduced a new aluminum handguard for Benelli M2 semi-auto shotguns. This product is primarily marketed as a 3 Gun competition accessory. It is lightweight and has a number of M-LOK slots on multiple positions which should allow mounting the accessories in a place and at an angle perfect for any particular shooter.
To be more precise, the new Briley M-LOK handguard has 49 full-sized M-LOK slots. The handguard also has a wrap over design that extends over the barrel providing a heat shield which must be a good feature when grabbing the handguard for reloading the gun or when trying to get a better control over the firearm.
This Briley handguard is machined out of 6061 aluminum and has a black anodized finish. There are color choice options (black, red and blue) on the company’s website which I assume refer to the color of the separate mounting part (see the above-embedded image), not the handguard itself. The Briley handguard is available in 10″ and 14″ sizes. The 10″ version weighs 8.9 oz. Here are some important notes concerning the installation of the different length handguards (quoted from the manufacturer’s website).
The handguard ships fully assembled and installs directly in place of the factory forend with no modifications to the shotgun.
Please Note: 10 inch handguards will work with a factory forend nut, however to ease disassembly we recommend the use of either our magazine cap weight or a magazine extension. 14 inch handguards will require the use of a magazine extension with a permanently attached forend nut to allow disassembly of the gun.
The 10″ version (shown in the images) is currently available on the company’s website at an MSRP of $275. The 14″ version is available for preorder at a price point of $325. The prices remain the same regardless of the color choice. The estimated start of shipping of the 14″ handguard is September 5, 2018.
