AC-Unity 60-Round Quad Stack 7.62x39mm AK Magazines

AC-Unity is a firearms and accessories manufacturing company located in Bosnia and Herzegovina. They have recently started exporting new quad stack 60-round 7.62x39mm AK magazines to the USA. This company and its products are mostly unknown to the American gun community that’s why I decided to do a little research to find out who they are and what they make.

In order to deliver a bit in-depth article to our readers, I contacted AC-Unity and asked for information concerning their company and the new magazine. Below I’ll quote what the company officials told me about the history of AC-Unity.

Company AC Unity d.o.o was founded as a result of years on the field of innovations summarized in the new achievements registered in military industry.

Founder and owner of company AC Unity Ltd. is Mr. Redzo Bekto, a businessman with Bosnian origin noted as great innovator and expert for high sophisticated tools.

Beside the tooling production, enormously knowledge was showed in injection moulding production and processes.

His first approach on US field was made in 2004 when he provided first polymer Magazines for AR15/M16 30 rds. platform.

Consecutive result of intellect and invocation made by Mr. Redzo Bekto gave result of appearance of new polymer magazines  AK-47 60 rds. 7,62×39!

A specific product for which patent is pending and at the moment this is one of most recognizable products which company AC Unity Ltd. have offered to the market.

According to the company, years of experience in the polymer materials industry allowed them to formulate a new, impact resistant polymer which is used in these 60-round magazines. The material is said to perform well under extreme environmental conditions and temperatures: from -40°F to 176°F (-40°C to +80°C). These magazines feature metal-reinforced front and rear locking lugs as well as a mechanism that allows holding the bolt carrier group back when the last round is fired. There are also windows on either side of the magazine with markings (22, 34, 46 and 60) showing the amount of loaded/left ammunition. The empty weight of the AC-Unity magazine is 12.35 oz.

Here is also a video demonstrating this new magazine.

Apparently, the first batch of these magazines that were imported to the US was quite a small one and the magazines that were available for preorder were quickly sold out. The price on Circle 10 AK website was $79.95. Hopefully, they will import more and we’ll see these magazines on the shelves of US stores again.
