According to a public filing in Nevada, Freedom Munitions and its parent company Howell Munitions, recently petitioned the court for bankruptcy protection. Information subitted to TFB from several anonymous sources pointed to two cases outlined at inforuptcy.com, showing filing dates of 6/8/2018 and 6/11/2018. Information is slim at the moment, but the court information states that both Freedom Munitions’ assets and liabilities lays somewhere between $10M and $50M.
Over a year ago, TFB reported layoffs at Howell Munitions, showing signs of a weakened ammunition market as compared to previous years banner sales. A word of caution here, while bankruptcy can never be considered a positive outcome for a company, it does not necessarily mean that doors will be closing and jobs will be lost. Bankruptcy can be just a vehicle for creditor protection and often times companies emerge with negotiated debt.
TFB is reaching out to a company representative for a public statement.
