SilencerCo Maxim 9 Finally Released For Sale
Over a year and a half after its initial announcement, the SilencerCo Maxim 9 has finally hit dealers shelves. Back then, at a seemingly over-the-top launch event in Miami, a Crockett and Tubbs theme took media types out into international waters for some high-seas target practice. At least it wasn’t bearded hipsters shooting the new integrally suppressed gun in the Rocky Mountains. That’s reserved for the other product lines:
Relax and put your pitchforks down – I always take a moment to poke fun at the Brooklyn Redhook types enjoying their SilencerCo suppressors. It’s all in good fun.
At the time of the Maxim Vice debut, the initial Maxim 9 prototypes were built on a highly modified Smith & Wesson M&P frame and slide. The final version now features a proprietary frame and slide, but utilizes Glock magazines. The pistol also sports an optics plate for micro red dot mounting options.
Maxim 9 unboxing at Capitol Armory with SilencerCo President Jason Schauble:
If you are interested in picking one up, you should probably act fast – talking with several dealers it appears that the initial run is nearly sold out.

I kind of want it for historical purposes.
My question is why 9mm? Why not 45acp....
