Big 3 Event Range Day Explosive Fun

When writers and companies get together at an event like the Big 3 there’s at least one day devoted to shooting. We took it a bit further at two days.

The highlight of our shooting day was a special shooting event we were all curious about and left us really looking forward to the afternoon. To preface the main event let me give you all an idea of the weapons we used during the Big 3 East in Daytona Beach.

Ruger 10-22 full auto integral suppressor. I sure enjoyed this little SBR.

There were a good number of gun companies present such as IWI who brought twenty assorted configuration Tavors. Most of you know how much I love my Tavor! Geissele brought a Tavor with the new trigger. Marc Krebs brought several of his beautifully made custom Saiga AK’s in everything from full size to gorgeous SBR’s. MGI brought modular AR15’s. Of course there were other rifles brought by those attending this writers event.

We all shot a lot of rounds switching between rifles becoming as familiar with each type and variant as we could given the time restraint waiting for the unnamed “special event”.

After the range went cold we heard a diesel vehicle and watched as it came around the corner carrying an old Jeep Cherokee. Now we know what we’ll be doing!!! The old Jeep was placed down range next to the berm after which the range masters starting placing charges of Tannerite throughout the Jeep. Most of us noticed these charges were pretty darn big but nobody worried since we had retired military EOD guys checking the charges after they were placed.

Once everything was in place we got the order to load three 30 round mags. Then we spread out in a line you’ll see in the video. So we had about 35 guys with semi auto rifles and 90 rounds each. This was going to be good. I haven’t seen that many big grins ever!

After the fun we had to let the Jeep burn out.

When the order to fire was given you’ll see in the video below what happens next. The following video was shot and edited by a young man who goes by Tac Daddy on You Tube. There are several other videos of this on his channel.

I hope you all enjoy the video!
